Simon Wilson

Simon is a lifelong technology and start-up enthusiast. He has worked as a recruiter for the past four years, successfully placing candidates across Canada for companies like IBM, TELUS, CTV and for entrepreneurial organizations like Foodtree. What differentiates Simon from other recruiters is he understands what candidates are looking for when changing jobs and all of his searches are thoroughly researched so you get information about the job others cannot provide. This is possible because he understands IT and before he presents opportunities to people, he has spent time understanding the technology culture.

Simon started in technology in 1996, working at a helpdesk for an Internet Service Provider after accidentally submitting a job application to the wrong desk. This happy accident led Simon to a ten-year long career working first as a systems specialist and then progressing to management for rapidly growing web hosting and Internet server software companies. He received firsthand experience seeing how emerging technologies like broadband Internet, virtualized web hosting, and unified communications have impacted the industry.
