Embedded Firmware Developer

About Microplex: We’ve been in business for over 35 years, but for the last 25 years we’ve been developing network protocols and applications for networked printers. Our only office is in Port Coquitlam, BC, adjacent the Port Coquitlam Station bus loop and the West Coast Express station.

In this position you’ll be part of a team porting and developing deeply embedded firmware for TCP/IP networked printers. You’ll be writing code mostly in the C language that targets ARM microprocessors running Linux. Typical tools include:

·      Eclipse IDE

·      GCC compiler

·      GDB debugger

·      GIT revision control

·      ARM JTAG interfaces

·      Unit test frameworks

·      Atlassian JIRA

Requirements: You are passionate about technology and its potential to improve life. You enjoy realizing solutions to real world problems. You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate has experience with:

·      C / C++ programming

·      TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 Networking

·      Wireless 802.11 Networking

·      Test Driven Development (TDD)

·      Linux/BSD operating systems

·      Real-time operating systems

·      Firmware for embedded systems

·      Agile / Scrum methodology

·      Product development teams
